in his hunting evolution for 30 years even before it came into fashion as it happened in the latest years (considering the rarefaction of the
other wild animal such as grey partridges and pheasants, (nowadays more than chickens)
Today every hunting review is full of advertisements "Specialists in woodcock" (with photos showing set free quails) but we must remember that the selected animal doesn't come out everyday in industrial quantities from dams confined in a kennel just to make up the numbers but it's result of a careful selection of animals used for reproduction only after haing tested the necessary and relevant qualities (you need to be lucky too).
In our dogs we have always looked for specific gift such as DEEP, ENDOWMENTS, ROCK POINT AND SENSE OF SMELL, necessary endowments to go queen hunting. The whole must be supported by the dog's equilibrium and hunting intelligence that is to say the dog must "run" using more brain than legs.
According to the uncontrolled competitive spirit of uor times we quite often saw dogs without any sense of wildness, fantasy, deep. Another important thing to consider with care is the dog's structure necessary to hunt correctly.
